Thoughts About My Editorial

Throughout the process of creating my opinion editorial, I feel that it went very well. I think the most difficult things for me were deciding on a topic, sticking to it, and finding ways to trick my mind into revising it. I really enjoyed doing more research, writing, and contemplating on my topic. Even though I wrote about six renditions of the paper, I would gladly write another opinion editorial! Thank you Chris for asking us to write one! (If you’re wondering why I didn’t mention the subject of my opinion editorial… it’s only a couple scrolls down- enjoy!)

  1. How am I supposed to compete with this? You wrote six renditions of your paper?

With this blog post as well as the picture above, I really hope you run for politics. You have fire to do the best you can in everything you pursue, and this determination is what we really need in Washington right now. We also need intelligence. Which you also have.

Bond 2020. You have my vote.

  2. Oh, don’t worry about competing with me when it comes to writing. Remember our first free-write? I remember you practically wrote a chapter to a mystery novel… it’s funny, in a response to my introduction, you can find the small paragraph that I managed to compose.

Now, I can’t say how much I really appreciate your very kind remarks. Running for political office is something that I take very seriously and in the past thought about. In the short life that I have lived, I have been greatly blessed to have been given what I have: a family that is deeply involved with politics (a father who has ran as a State Senator), the protection of this nation and teaching me the gospel; teachers who care about their student’s understanding of civic duty and American History; being selected to represent the youth of my state in legislative and attorney general committees; have the opportunity to help with many political campaigns as a volunteer; given the chance meet and know personally the elected officials of my state and nation; receive four congressional nominations to WestPoint and the Air Force Academy; but most importantly, I see the importance of taking pride in one’s nation and showing my gratitude to those who willingly sacrificed what they had- some giving their lives so that I and my family can live in a land of liberty and peace. Although, I will say that I have not made any decisions about running for office in the future, I do intend to join the military after I return from my mission. So, “Bond 2020” will probably have to wait, but thank you for your kindness and enthusiasm. If there is are only two things that I can do in my life, I want to dedicate it to protecting my family and country, and helping spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Daily I thank God for being the luckiest boy alive- each day is the best day of my life because of the great and wonderful blessings that I have been given. You will reach your ambitions and potential with hard work, dedication, and always relying upon the Lord. I know that you are a very intelligent person, and I wish you the very best in all your future endeavors.
